edgy android saniwa shit
When you are created, the scientists tell you your duties and you accept them with a smile.
Humans get fatigued and tired of war and fighting and administration that they have no experience with, you have it all stored in your memory already. The twenty-third century makes use of robots and androids already, so why should your appearance make a difference?
All the circles praise your creators for advancement of science and technology and talk of thirteen different awards and numerous other accolades. It is not your duty to count, so you stop paying attention after five or six, and the scientist in the middle of the laboratory stops talking about whatever prize to praise how humanlike your reactions are when you roll your eyes at the mention of more grants and funding.
You don't understand why it's a big deal when you're supposed to be human, and humans get annoyed and tired when they hear the same impossible situation repeated over and over. You're programmed to react that way, aren't you?
Nothing is a surprise when you've been programmed to expect it, so when the five swords in front of you gain human shape you force your eyes and mouth to widen in a gasp and in shock. Without so much as letting the others speak you pick the first one that opens his mouth and take him to the citadel where you'll be stationed for the rest of your days.
Your attendant from the scientists, the little fox calling itself Konnosuke speaks directly into your mind. It explains its duties, from keeping the scientists updated on your progress, as well as how to aid you on doing your duties. You're not the first 'saniwa', but this citadel is newly created for you. The experiences of the previous ones have already been coded into your system, you don't need him to explain, so you dismiss him and he disappears into thin air without another word.
Around this time Kashuu Kiyomitsu yawns, stretching himself wide, complaining about something that you tune out almost immediately. It's hardly important. Once he's done inspecting the courtyard, he seats himself on the engawa and stretches like a cat under the sunlight. He pats the spot beside him for you to join him, and you recognize the cue to sit down, so you do, closing your eyes and letting the sun brush against your skin.
Perhaps it is because your skin is synthetic or that you don't need vitamins, but the sun doesn't feel good to you, you don't understand why humans would willingly crawl under this ball of heat for hours at a time.
Kashuu Kiyomitsu does not notice your otherwise nonhuman behaviour, but you don't really care if he notices or not, anyway.
